Midgets win Tri-Rivers Classic!
Our Mighty Midgets won the Tri-Rivers Classic Tournament this year with a 79-58 win over the North Shelby Raiders in the championship game. The boys in blue have been hard at work, putting hours in on their game. Covid slowed us down last year and put us in last place at the Tri-Rivers tournament, partly due to quarantine and close contact protocols. This year, with a strong and healthy bench, our boys in blue were ready to make a comeback, especially with 6 returning seniors and dedicated underclassmen.
On Saturday, December 4, our Putnam crowd was loud and the student section packed the excitement and enthusiasm while decked out in neon. The Midgets were on fire with Zach H scoring 21 points and being chosen as the tournament MVP. Landon W, had a great game with 14 points, Owen R with 16, and Gage P with 10. Not to mention the quick hands, smart anticipation, confidence, and fun these fellas bring with them to the hardwoods.
Congratulations to Zach H, Tournament MVP. Landon W and Zach H were also selected as the 2021 Tri-Rivers Classic All-Tournament Boys Team. Way to go!
Roger Owings was also awarded the Legends of Tri-Rivers award during the tournament festivities.
Our Lady Midgets earned the consolation spot in the tournament that day as well. Congratulations, Lady Midgets!
Many thanks to all our fans, cheerleaders, coaches, parents, and student-athletes for a great start to the basketball season! We look forward to cheering you on!
