Putnam County's Tony B Selected for Blue-Grey Football All-American Bowl
Blue-Grey Football was established in 1989 and the founders were Gus Bell and his son Erik Bell. Together, they established the brand to help prep prospects from all over the country receive national exposure and increase their chances to secure scholarships to a college, whether that be at the NCAA Division I level, or II, III, NAIA or Junior College.
Fast forward, and today, Blue-Grey Football proudly hosts close to 20 All-American Combines (Regional and Super levels) at venues all over the country with most taking place inside stadiums and practice facilities that are home to teams from the NFL.
On a yearly basis, the best of best meet on the biggest stages around: East vs. West at Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium, North vs. South at Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Raymond James Stadium and
Blue vs. Grey at Jacksonville Jaguars’ EverBank Field.
Tony B, a senior at Putnam County R-I Schools, traveled to his first invite regional combine in April on the Missouri Western campus and advanced to become a red zone prospect. The next invite was the super regional combine in Dallas, Texas in June at the AT&T stadium home of the Dallas cowboys. Tony was selected to play in the Blue-Grey All American Bowl based on statistics and performance evaluations made at the super combine and also his HUDL performance film from last years season. He was selected from a pool of 6750 players who competed all over the United States in regional or super combines. The performance data evaluated at these combines is the 40-yard time, broad jump, pro-agility drill, bench pressing 185 for reps, and an evaluation of his position technique and skill mastery as a linebacker.
This year’s Blue vs Grey game will be held in Atlanta Georgia in the Mercedes Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons, on January 13, 2020. Congratulations to Tony B!
